“My job is basically making children happy, they come here with their families and make memories they’re going to have forever.”
As the Director of Marketing for Jenkinson’s Boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey, Toby Wolf will be the first to tell you that her job is a lot of fun. From hosting concerts to scheduling fireworks along the boardwalk, her office next to the beach is every child’s dream. What makes it even better? She grew up right around the corner. Making her own memories along the shore her entire life, this area has always been home.
But when disaster struck her home in 2012, Wolf’s job became very different. In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, it was her responsibility to face the cameras, the newspapers, the reporters and make sure the entire world knew… “We’re strong here, we’re resilient, and we’re going to figure it out.”
There is one other place Wolf, (’99), considers home—Morgantown, West Virginia.
“WVU is where we became who we are, the friendships that we form there are so much stronger because we’re all figuring that out together... I’d just like to thank WVU, Morgantown, and the state of West Virginia for helping me become who I am.”
