2019 Day of Giving

Rally time!

Next Wednesday, November 13th, is an important day for the Alumni Association and West Virginia University. It’s our annual Day of Giving.

The WVU Alumni Association is a non-profit organization and 90% of our operations are funded by donations. Every program such as WVU Connect, our 50-year reunion, membership benefits, events, business networking, etc. is only possible because of generous donors like yourself.

Whether you give $5, $50, or $500 - every penny makes a difference and if we can rally our alumni, we can beat our total from last year. By making a small donation, the load can be light individually, but collectively we will make a BIG difference! It’s time to rally!

Our focus this fiscal year is on growing our support for all alumni and students. Our chapters are doing more than ever to provide a variety of activities for our alumni including service events, business networking, family picnics, and supporting their local communities.

We are expanding our Mountaineer Alliance Business Network across the country and have events planned in DC, Pittsburgh, Houston, Boston, NYC, and Charlotte. We’re working on plans now to grow the initiative on the West Coast and in Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas. This network is key to helping our alumni in their professional lives and growing jobs and economic prosperity for West Virginia.

Likewise, our Chapter network is expanding rapidly. We’re building new chapters in Columbia, South Carolina and Oahu, Hawaii, and we’re working on expanding our reach in other regions where we have a high concentration of alumni.

My ask of you is this: please donate to your Alumni Association next Wednesday and ask your classmates and fellow Mountaineers to do the same. If you’d like to speak about how we’ll utilize your donation, I welcome that conversation and the opportunity to hear about your affinity for West Virginia University. You can reach me at sean.frisbee@mail.wvu.edu.

To make a donation next Wednesday (November 13th) visit https://dayofgiving.wvu.edu/giving-day/20211/department/20226 and designate the WVU Alumni Association as the place for your gift.

Thank you and Let’s Go!
