Fresh Perspectives, Strong Connections: Welcoming Our 2025 WVU Alumni Board of Directors

At the heart of the WVU Alumni Association is our commitment to connecting Mountaineers around the world, and that mission is strengthened by passionate, visionary leaders who guide our efforts forward.

During our recent annual business meeting, we were proud to welcome five exceptional individuals to the WVU Alumni Association Board of Directors. Beginning their service in June, alumni Jihad Dixon, Andrew Hartsog, Donald T. Robinson, and Anthony Webster have each been appointed to six-year terms, bringing with them a wide range of professional expertise and personal dedication to their alma mater. We’re also excited to welcome Rozaireo “Ro” Jones, a current student who will serve a one-year term, ensuring that the student perspective has a strong and active voice at the table.

This accomplished group represents a powerful cross-section of the Mountaineer community, from business and finance to human resources and public service. Their professional backgrounds are impressive, but it’s their shared commitment to service and their belief in the transformative power of a WVU education that truly sets them apart. As board members, they will play a vital role in guiding the Alumni Association’s strategic priorities, supporting student success, and creating meaningful ways for alumni to stay connected, no matter where their paths lead.

In addition to welcoming new members, the Board also elected its Executive Committee for the coming year, who will help steer our work and champion alumni engagement efforts across the WVU community. Zach Mendelson of Pittsburgh will serve as chair of the Board of Directors. Joining him are Sharon Flanery of Charleston as vice chair; Gabrielle St. Léger of Philadelphia as secretary; Kamau Brown of Marina del Rey, California, as treasurer; Kevin Ellis of Bridgeport as at-large representative; and Marilyn McClure-Demers of Columbus, Ohio, as past chair.

As we look ahead, we’re inspired by the fresh perspectives, strong leadership, and Mountaineer pride this dynamic group of individuals and their fellow board members bring to the table. The future of WVU is bright, and with this board in place, we’re more energized than ever to keep moving forward.

Let’s Go!
